This course is delivered by Embryonics Ltd and taught by top Dutch instructor Pieter Kloosterman. The courses are taught by highly experienced instructors from the top Dutch school. The main instructor, Peter Kloosterman, is Head of Foot Trimming in the Dutch college and is a renowned worldwide expert in cattle foot-trimming and care.

The course has been running in the UK for more than 12 years and over 400 students have attended. The Diploma is recognised as a mark of quality and high standard by farmers and many professional foot trimmers have taken the exam.
Pieter Kloosterman is an excellent instructor and with his relaxed and humorous style he makes cattle foot care a pleasure to learn.

The four-day Practical Cattle Foot Trimming course is the basis to the Dutch Method diploma. The course

  • Comprises small groups for individual tuition
  • Provides plenty of practical 'hands on’ activity
  • Covers equipment needs, maintenance and applying blocks
  • Includes lunch and refreshments each day plus course dinner on the Wednesday evening

Attendance on the initial course is followed by gaining experience in the field. After trimming about 500 feet, we advise trimmers to come to a check day where technique can be checked and bad habits corrected. After another period of foot trimming trimmers return to take the Diploma exam.
