Training

Until recently, the Dutch Method was the only recognized standard of foot trimming in the UK and many of our members are qualified in this technique. The course content and a list of the latest training course and check day dates is maintained on this site.

In 2006, the NACFT launched the Level 3 Certificate of Competence in Cattle Foot Trimming. This is the UK equivalent to the Dutch Method and has been validated by NPTC (part of City & Guilds). The NACFT/NPTC is currently training assessors for this qualification, and we hope to offer training to hoof trimmers very soon.
